Removal of polymer friction layers

The removal of the polymer layer in friction bearings is possible either mechanically, which is associated with the risk of damaging the metal surface, another option is to burn the polymer layer, which, for example, requires temperatures above 450°C for polyamide. This can be a problem, for example, with aluminum alloys, it can be connected to the expansion of the object, it is necessary to dismantle any connectors, gufers, etc., it is time and energy consuming. Laser removal of the polymer layer is very effective, the pulsed laser passes through the polymer layer and breaks the bond between the polymer and the metal. Subsequently, the polymer is simply mechanically removed. The whole process takes a few minutes without the risk of damaging the part and polluting the surroundings. www.lsrservices.cz.
